Maya Fehling, MD, M.Sc.IH, DTM & H 

Evaluator and Global Public Health Consultant

 

 

 

Dr. Maya Fehling is a German physician. After working clinically in paediatrics and internal medicine in Switzerland and France, Dr. Fehling has worked for various international NGOs such as Médecins sans Frontières (MSF) in Ecuador, Ghana, Nigeria, Cape Verde, Uganda and Mexico. She completed a Global Health Leadership Fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston and holds a Diploma of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene. In 2010-2011 Dr. Maya was a country director of Maternal, Newborn and Child Emergency Project in South Sudan, where she developed, implemented and evaluated a training programme for traditional birth attendants and community health workers contracted by Ministry of Health South Sudan and the World Bank.
 
She has a TropEd Master of International Health from Charite Berlin, including modules at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, University College London, University of Bergen and the Royal Institute of Tropical Medicine in Amsterdam.
 
Dr. Maya is currently employed as a Medical Quality Advisor at MSF Berlin to manage, assess and improve the quality of care in humanitarian projects. Maya's special interest lies in wellbeing and the post-2015 agenda: ethics, global justice and demographic changes.
